What is Mu Li?
“Wood” represents nature and quiet vitality. Agarwood is formed when a tree heals itself over time. “Li” means a gift, and also a sense of respect toward incense, others, and ourselves.
Mu Li works with natural aromatic materials and traditional methods. We hope incense can return to daily life as something warm, quiet, and grounding.
Founder Story
The founder grew up learning incense-making from his grandmother, later studied art and aesthetics at Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, and went deep into agarwood production areas to learn about materials and craftsmanship.
Later, in Jingdezhen Taoyangli, surrounded by ceramics, handcrafts, and Eastern lifestyle aesthetics, he began to reorganize his relationship with incense. Mu Li Incense did not appear as a complete brand at once; it gradually grew through selecting materials, making incense, market stalls, scent trials, and conversations with customers.
